Ottawa, Ontario – The weather was hot and the stands were packed! It was a perfect weekend for another Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup by Yokohama. With the newest addition to their team Valerie Chiasson, Mark Motors Racing quickly became the fantastic four at the Grand Prix du Canada.

The first race of the weekend drew a lot of attention with its 3 re-starts. Once they were on their way, the crowds and teams were on their feet watching. By the end of Race 1 on Saturday, June 10th, all four of Mark Motors Racing drivers were standing on the podium! The youngest driver Roman De Angelis clinched his third consecutive 1st place finish this season in the Gold category. “It was another great weekend for us, the boys at Bestline gave me a perfect car as always and being on track last year really helped me get up to speed quickly” said De Angelis. “We continue to push and try to improve our pace against the platinum cars finishing top 10 both days with a 6th place overall Sunday. I was a bit challenged racing both the F1600 as well at the GT3 and it took some concentration but all in all it was very good for our driver development skills. Montreal is an awesome track to be on and a great venue. Special thanks to Yokohama, Imsa and of course our sponsors Mark Motors.” Also in Gold was newest driver Valerie Chiasson, who finished a close 2nd place and stood next to De Angelis on the podium. Racing out of Platinum class was Zach Robichon and his close 2nd place finish in the shadow of leader Scott Hargrove. “The Mark Motors Racing crew gave us a fantastic car at the beginning of the weekend and allowed us to lead most of the practice and qualifying sessions” said Robichon, “Saturday we were lucky to keep our 2nd place after a mistake from my end saw me get a little too comfortable with Montreal’s notorious Concrete walls”. Rounding out the day was Marco Cirone crossing the finish line for another 1st place finish in Platinum Masters.

The excitement continued Sunday, June 11th for Race 2 as it was another day full podium finishes! De Angelis claimed his fourth consecutive 1st place finish while Chiasson clinched another 2nd place spot on the podium. “It was an amazing feeling to be on a Canadian Grand Prix podium!” said Chiasson “I really attacked from the start to finish to earn and defend my position in this race, so this tastes particularly good!” Robichon was right behind 1st place coming in another close 2nd, this time beside him on the podium was Mark Motors Racing supporter Erik Karlsson! Cirone fought for the top stop hard and came out with a 2nd place finish. “As usual the Montreal Grand Prix always has its challenges especially with the limited track time” said Cirone. “Our entire team reached the podium in both races and accumulated valuable points towards our respective championships. I’m very proud of my teammates, Zach, Roman, and Valerie. Special thanks to the Bestline crew for their long hours and hard work!”

Overall, it was an action-packed weekend for Mark Motors Racing! A huge thank you goes out to Bestline Auto! Without them, this weekend wouldn’t have been possible!

Stay tuned and follow Mark Motors Racing for their next race at Watkins Glen on Canada Day weekend!
