TORONTO, Ontario – Two weeks on from a successful weekend at Watkins Glen International, Mark Motors Racing and the Ultra94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama series are back in action at the Honda Indy Toronto on July 15-16-17.

This weekend’s upcoming races mark the return to home soil after the championship’s inaugural race south of the border. The Toronto Indy provides a showcase for the talented drivers in the series as they are forced to navigate the challenging street track in the heart of Canada’s largest city.

Rookie driver Zacharie Robichon heads into the weekend with an impressive 3rd place standing in the Porsche GT3 Cup Platinum Championship, on the back of a double podium showing at Watkins Glen. Zach spoke out about the upcoming Indy races, “It’s going to be a great weekend of Porsche racing in Toronto this year. It is the first true street track of the season and my first experience in a sports car with so many walls around me! The Mark Motors racing team has been so great since the beginning of the year that I have full confidence heading in to this track knowing that I have the best equipment possible.”

On the other side of the garage, Marco Cirone heads into Toronto first in the Porsche GT3 Cup Platinum Masters Championship, and 4th overall in the Porsche GT3 Cup Platinum Championship standings. “There is no other better feeling in racing than being in front of your home town friends and family. We certainly hope that we can finish on the podium this weekend as we have so many fans from across the GTA.  The Mark Motors racing team will be ready to compete and try to cross the finish line 1st and 2nd this weekend. We feel with each passing race weekend we get stronger and faster. Together with Zach we know that we have all the components to do extremely well at the Toronto Indy. Can’t wait!”

pixelBoth drivers have shown some impressive competitive racing in the 2016 season of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada series thus far. Cirone and Robichon have both driven the Toronto Indy circuit, with this year marking Cirone’s 4th visit to the famous circuit in the GT3 Cup. Rookie Robichon was last on the track in 2014 piloting a Formula 1600 racecar, meaning the weekend will put his skills to the test in the 460hp Porsche GT3 Cup racecar for Mark Motors.

The Toronto Indy race weekend has brought all sorts of driving talent over the last 30 years! That’s right, this weekend marks its 30th year. The 30 years has delivered us an amazing arena of so many really great drivers including Bobby Rahal, Al Unser Jr., Michael Andretti, Emerson Fittipladi, Paul Tracy to name a few.  Mark Motors Racing and the Porsche GT3 cup series are so proud to be a part of this weekend. The big crowds Toronto brings in for the weekend are amazing and inspirational.
