Mark Motors Racing out of Ottawa, Ontario is proud to announce the return of Marco Cirone and Zacharie Robichon, winning drivers from the 2016 season. The duo will be running in the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama Platinum Championship in the new Porsche GT3 Cup Car 991 Gen 2. This comes following the announcement of their Gold Cup Championship new driver Roman DeAngelis. The three amigos and their cars will be supported by the top technicians and engineers, Bestline Autotech.

Robichon, hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, will once again contest the entire 2017 GT3 Cup Canada following his breakthrough rookie season last year. He entered the 2016 season with zero experience in sports cars following a standout career in the Canadian Junior Open-Wheel World as well as a decorated career in karting. He made an immediate impact bringing the team a victory in his first weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park and continued his strong rookie campaign with a number of podium finishes. “I can’t wait to get the 2017 season started” mentioned Zach. “The opportunity to be back with Mark Motors Racing for a second season was one that I could not be more excited about. The chance to be at the helm of one of these new cars just helps in adding to the excitement and the season can’t come soon enough so that we can get out there and start fighting for some race wins right out of the box”.

Cirone, from Toronto, Ontario, is ready to challenge for his fifth consecutive Platinum Masters Championship. In addition to competing in the complete Canadian calendar in the platinum class, Cirone will be contesting the first round of the GT3 Cup USA series in the Gold class at Sebring International Raceway, alongside his new teammate Roman DeAngelis. Cirone brings a wealth of experience in the GT3 Cup series with countless race wins in the GT3 Cup Platinum Masters class in both the 991 Gen 1 car and the previous generation Porsche 997. “I am so excited to once again represent Mark Motors racing and to have the opportunity to compete with the new 991 gen 2 cup car. It is always such a privilege to be supported by a great company. I look forward to working with Zach Robichon and our new teammate Roman DeAngelis. I feel the three of us will definitely help each other be the best we can be. Can’t wait to get the season started” Cirone said.

Mark Motors Vice President Liza Mrak is also excited for the season to start. “Racing has always been a part of our lives much like our family business, Mark Motors. Whether it was going to the races or watching them on TV, we were in love. The cars, the drivers, the people we would meet and the ambience and energy, we were tangled in it. So, it was just a matter of time before we would have our own race team. The team and our drivers are as equal an asset as our cars and we all need to fit. We are very excited about having both Zach and Marco return to the team as it has been a natural relationship. We are even more excited to bring in Roman, our new driver who has an entire team’s worth of enthusiasm and energy. We have a great year ahead of us!”

Mark Motors Racing will be making their 2017 season debut this weekend at Sebring International Raceway with Marco Cirone and Roman DeAngelis for the opening rounds of the GT3 Cup USA series. Roman will be using this weekend as a learning opportunity to get used to his new ride for the season. When asked about his first weekend in the Porsche GT3 Cup challenge, Roman had this to say “I’m more than excited to begin the season and work with the team for the first time. Although it’s the first race in the car the goal is to win as it normally is, which would be a huge confidence booster going into the season”. The race will be streamed live on IMSA.tv this weekend.
