The snow may have just melted off the asphalt, but that hasn’t slowed down the Mark Motors Racing Team from preparing for the 2014 race season.
Mark Motors Racing drivers Perry Bortolotti and Marco Cirone will once again be vying for the top spots in the fourth season of the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin.
The series consists of five grueling race weekends fueled with intense wheel-to-wheel racing and fierce competition by Canada’s top semi-professional racecar drivers.
The series starts May 17th and 18th at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, where the competitors are gearing up to take the lead and showcase their skills.
This year, the newest 911 GT3 Cup will take to the track. Based on the 911 series production model, this sports car has a 3.8-litre flat-six engine that produces 338 kW (460 hp). The power of the engine is transmitted to the rear axle by a racing clutch and a newly developed Porsche six-speed sequential gearbox.
Not only will Cirone and Bortolotti be driving the newest GT3 Cup Cars, but both drivers have also been practicing throughout the year, ensuring they will be in tip-top shape for the start of the season.
Cirone and Bortolotti both practiced and tested at the Sebring International Raceway as well as the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. Cirone even placed third overall at Sebring, and first in the Platinum Cup Masters in one of the races!
We look forward to a highly competitive and exciting race season, and can’t wait to see you out at the track for our first race next weekend!
